A change of pace

From the heat of the north, we ventured out west to the Blue Mountains with an overseas guest in tow.
A comfortable day to begin with turns cool upon arrival at Katoomba (10°C)

Notice the tight beading of the light drizzle.
This is due to the Banana Gloss that was applied on 22 Dec 2012, 4 days and 1100 kilometers ago.

Beading on the glass

Not much dirt after returning, totalling over 1300 kms.

Tyres still have their sheen from the product applied before the Port Mac trip

Looks like we picked up a hitch hiker

Time to clean

Did my research and decided on the Chemical Guys range of products.

Dirty wheels with baked on brake dust.

Spray with Chemical Guys Diablo Wheel Gel and soak

Agitate with (niece's) brush

Hose off and admire

Washed and dried paint. Lots of swirling

Apply Banana Gloss from ZAS

Buff off Banana Gloss and see less swirls

Enjoy the reflections

A few things to work on

A few pics of areas of the car that need work.

Paint is a bit swirled. Needs a clean, polish sealant and gloss.

Even though the wiper arm is standard in grey, I want to change it to black.

More swirls and a scratch.

Tail pipes need  metal polishing.

Instrument cluster needs removal and restoration.

Meeting with a few awesome cars

Met up with a few nice rides today at Le Montague in Lilyfield.
I was parked between a new C250 Coupe and R107 380SL and another R107 opposite, a 500SL (pictured below). Other cars in the car park were various BMWs, a Ferrari, Audi R8 and a Maserati
